Course Description
Australian College offers a version of BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business, with specialised units, to prepare you for a career in Leadership. This nationally recognised qualification will build on your existing knowledge, giving you specialised skills to monitor health and safety, implement an operational plan, undertake project work, promote team effectiveness, and show leadership in the workplace.
BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Leadership) reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities.
Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills.
They use well developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibilities for the output of others.

Course Completion / Qualification Pathways
Students obtaining a ‘competent’ result for all units of competency will achieve the BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Leadership).
A Statement of Attainment will be issued to students who complete less than the required units for the full qualification.

Graduates may choose to further their study through enrolment in the BSB40320 Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business, BSB40420 Certificate IV in Human Resource Management, BSB40820 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication, BSB50120 Diploma of Business, BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management or the BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management.

On completion of the course, graduates may aspire to work in the industry as a supervisor, personal assistant, office supervisor, business support officer, team leader, project leader, shift supervisor, operations support officer, sales team leader, human resources coordinator.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This course does not have mandatory entry requirements as outlined in the training package.
However, Australian College has certain admission criteria for this course. Prospective students must:
- be minimum 16 years of age or older at the time of enrolment. Parental consent is required from all students under the age of 18 years
- complete a language, literacy and numeracy test prior to enrolment
- depending on the unit, students may be required to interact with actual or simulated team members, clients and staff and maybe required to participate in audio/video-recorded role-plays with others.
- obtain their Unique Student Identifier (USI) and provide it to Australian College. Information on how to obtain a USI can be found here.
- agree to comply with Australian College policies and procedures as published on the website and outlined in the Student Handbook.
- pay all fees as outlined in the Enrolment Terms and Conditions.
Students must have access to and be able to operate:
- An internet-enabled PC/Laptop or similar running a current operating system (e.g. Windows 10 or Mac OSX)
- An audio/video recording device (such as a mobile phone) for the purpose of preparing audio/video assessment recordings
- Microsoft Office (or compatible software)
- Current web browser (e.g., Chrome)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF document viewer

Overseas Students Policy
This course is not available to students on an Overseas Student Visa.
As defined in the ESOS Act 2000, Overseas students are not eligible to apply to enrol in this nationally recognised course, nor are they eligible for certification. Please refer to the Enrolment Terms and Conditions.
DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY
This course is delivered using an asynchronous study methodology, utilising mainly online delivery (eLearning) of training materials supported with emails and phone calls with the trainer and assessor, on request.

Assessments
To ensure we gather all types of evidence as required by the training package and unit requirements, various assessment methods are being used to assess the student’s competencies.
Following are assessment methods used for this qualification:
- Knowledge/Theory based assessment consisting of questions and answers
- Case Studies – includes analysis of case studies and answering questions
- Projects– depending on the unit, projects may have to be completed in a simulated environment.

Please note that practical demonstrations and roleplays will have to be video recorded and submitted via Australian College LMS or e-Campus.
WORK PLACEMENT / EXPERIENCE
This qualification does not require mandatory work placement.
However, Australian College recommends students to have access to a real office work environment for them to practice and complete assessment tasks using specific software and equipment.
RPL / CREDIT TRANSFER
RPL and Credit Transfer is available for all students to consider. Students will be provided with information about RPL and Credit Transfer prior to enrolment. Australian College will recognise the AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other RTO’s, upon verification with the issuing organisation.
