• operating system: Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP or Vista to install the Incredible Charts student software

  the Incredible Charts software will only work on a Mac if you run Virtual PC
  — or Windows with VMware Fusion or BootCamp in the latest versions

• browser: Internet Explorer 6.0
• memory: 32 MB of RAM

The personal attributes you will need to have include:

• an interest in share trading and the stock market
• computer literacy
• a reasonable level of numeracy
• a reasonable command of written English
• a willingness to learn and the desire to succeed

What is the difference between E*Trade and Incredible Charts?

E*TRADE is an online share-trading company that was set up by traders. You use it to buy and sell shares. You only need a bank account to set up an E*TRADE account; the course will show you how to do this. E*TRADE operates on any browser and on both PC and Mac. If you prefer you can set up a ComSec account instead. The course is not dependent on having an E*TRADE account.

Incredible Charts is a software application that lets you plan your trading. You need to have a PC to install this software program. We provide you with a student copy of this program to use throughout your course.
